For September wheat prices were up 3 1/4 in SRW, up 19 3/4 in HRW, up 9 in HRS; Corn is up 2 1/2; Soybeans down 36 1/2; Soymeal down $16.90; Soyoil down 0.06.
China’s markets are closed for holiday.
Malaysian palm oil prices overnight were down 98 ringgit (-2.13%) at 4497 retreating from a record high while soybean oil prices fell, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s quarterly grain stocks report showed stockpiles are bigger than expected.

TENDERS
- WHEAT, BARLEY TENDER: Tunisia’s state grains agency has issued an international tender to buy around 125,000 tonnes of soft wheat and 100,000 tonnes of barley
- WHEAT TENDER: Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee approves the purchase of 550,000 tons of wheat in a tender that closed on Wednesday, the finance ministry said Thursday in a statement.

Saskatchewan Harvest Nears Completion But Soil Moisture Declines
Harvest in the Canadian agricultural province is 95% complete, well ahead of the five-year average at 70% for this time of year, Saskatchewan government says Thursday.
- Cereals, lentils, chickpeas and field peas are nearly done being harvested, weekly crop report says
- 92% of canola, 89% of soybeans and 75% of flax have been harvested

EU Raises Estimate for 2021 Soft-Wheat Harvest; Trims Barley
The EU’s soft-wheat harvest is now estimated at 131m tons, up from an August estimate of 127.2m tons, the European Commission said Thursday in a report.

Egypt Recommends France Use Its Shipping Firm for Wheat
Egypt’s supply minister met with French officials and recommended that France use Egypt’s state-owned shipping company as one way to reduce freight costs, the Egyptian supply ministry said in a statement.
- That would make French sales to Egypt more competitive compared with supplies from Black Sea rivals
- France proposed long-term supply contracts with Egypt as a prerequisite

French Corn Harvest Stays Well Behind Last Year’s Pace: Agrimer

Heavy India Sept Rains Ensure Normal Monsoon for 3rd Yr
India’s 2021 monsoon season officially came to an end on Thursday, marking a third consecutive year of normal summer rains and setting the stage for another year of record-high kharif crop production. Strong precipitation in September almost made up for the patchy performance in end July and most of August, the official forecaster said. The monsoon rainfall may persist for some more time in October as the moisture-laden winds continue to blow across the country.
Total rainfall over the crucial June-September season was 0.7% below the long period average of 88 centimetres, as per data from the IMD.A deviation of 4% from the long-period average is considered normal.
The government expects a record foodgrain production of 150.50 million tonnes in the kharif season, 12.71 million tonnes more than the average foodgrain production of the previous five years (2015-16 to 2019-20).

Russian Wheat-Export Tax to Rise to $57.80/Ton for Next Week
Russia’s wheat export customs duty will increase to $57.80/ton next week, from $53.50, the Agriculture Ministry said Friday on its website. The rates are set weekly and take effect three working days after publication.
U.S. Barge Shipments of Grain Rose 11% Last Week: USDA
Shipments along the Mississippi, Illinois, Ohio and Arkansas rivers increased in the week ending Sept. 25 from the previous week, according to the USDA’s weekly grain transportation report.
