Kim Rugel

While Kim did not grow up on the farm, agriculture is in her DNA.
Both of her parents grew up on farms in Minnesota and trips to the family farm were as much a part of childhood traditions as tater tot hotdish and apple pie. But it was the childhood visits to dad’s office: the grain elevator and later the trading floor of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange that led her to finding her passion.
Kim’s career has always been with Benson-Quinn. She started in 1995 as a grain settlement accountant where she learned the fundamentals of the business, which led to positions as rail freight trader and cash corn and soybean trader before finding her passion in the role as a grain broker for BQC.
When not analyzing the markets, you can find Kim either running, biking or enjoying craft beer. If not there, she’s off on some crazy adventure, which in the past has included cycling through northern Vietnam, the Pyrenees in France while cheering on the Tour de France and exploring the world’s largest cave: Son Doong in Vietnam.
